More than 700 Belmont students started their summer off by participating in one of 45 faculty-led Maymester and Summer Study Abroad programs. These short-term programs, lasting anywhere from a week to a month, are led and designed by Belmont faculty to explore one or two certain areas of study, while giving students the opportunity to travel to and discover a new place.

A total of 11,406 students enrolled during the 2019 spring term at The University of Alabama were named to the Dean's List with an academic record of 3.5 or above or the President's List with an academic record of 4.0 (all A's). The UA Dean's and President's lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or to undergraduate students who take less than a full course load.

The University of Alabama awarded some 5,716 degrees during its spring commencement May 3-5. Columbia State is pleased to announce the spring 2019 graduates. In total, 490 students graduated from Columbia State May 4, with 344 degree and certificate candidates recognized during the fall commencement ceremony.

The following students achieved the Dean's List at Belmont University for the Spring 2019 semester. Eligibility is based on a minimum course load of 12 hours and a quality grade point average of 3.5 with no grade below a C.

The University of Alabama has inducted a new group of students into its chapter of Phi Beta Kappa. Founded on Dec. 5, 1776, The Phi Beta Kappa Society is the nation's most prestigious academic honor society. It has chapters at 286 colleges and universities in the United States, 50 alumni associations, and more than half a million members worldwide. Noteworthy members include 17 U.S. presidents, 39 justices of the Supreme Court of the United States and more than 130 Nobel laureates. The mission of The Phi Beta Kappa Society is to champion education in the liberal arts and sciences, foster freedom of thought, and recognize academic excellence. UA's chapter was founded in 1851. Students are elected to membership on the basis of outstanding academic achievement in the liberal arts and sciences.

Each summer, Columbia State Community College students travel the world while earning college credit. This summer, 29 students participated in the study abroad program, exploring different countries and gaining exposure to other cultures.

The awards honor the contributions of campus organizations as well as individuals to service and leadership within and outside of the UA community. These are the highest honors that can be bestowed on student organizations and individuals in regards to campus leadership and service. They are hosted by Student Involvement, The SOURCE, the Center for Service & Leadership, Safe Zone, the Capstone Heroes Committee, and the Office of Fraternity & Sorority Lif e.

More than 400 students received diplomas at Harding University's commencement exercises on Dec. 16, 2017. Graduates include students from the College of Allied Health, College of Arts and Humanities, College of Bible and Ministry, Paul R. Carter College of Business Administration, Cannon-Clary College of Education, Carr College of Nursing, College of Pharmacy, College of Sciences, and the Honors College.
